Removal (step 1)

  • Remove cover by placing finger under the device to stabilize
  • Grasp tab on cover with other hand

 

Removal (step 2)

  • Lift tab to completely detach cover from anchor base

Removal (step 3)

  • Remove the catheter – do not use excessive force
  • Hold pressure at site to achieve hemostasis

Option 1: Removal Step 4

  • Fold edges of anchor base downward
  • Place third finger under back edge of device to help begin folding motion

Option 1: Removal Step 5

  • Place one hand near the insertion site to stabilize the tissue
  • Hold folded anchor base horizontal to the skin and lift the anchor out of the insertion site
  • A swift, deliberate tug may be needed to remove the anchor

Option 2: Removal Step 4

  • Use a blunt scissors (Metzenbaum, Mayo or similar) to cut the anchor base in half lengthwise along the groove

Option 2: Removal step 5

  • Use a blunt scissors (Metzenbaum, Mayo or similar) to cut the anchor base in half lengthwise along the groove

Option 2: Removal Step 6

  • Place one hand near the insertion site to stabalize the tissue
  • Use a swift, deliberate tug to remove each half of the anchor base separate
  • The flexible anchor will straighten as it is pulled out and will not cause tearing of trauma to the tissue
